With Christmas inspiration, I thought of Red immediately. However, it would be quite boring for the whole family to red. Therefore, I decided to do mix and match. We only had an hour to take pictures before the kids started acting up. I prepared them with tights and the hair styles that would go with everything. I bought my off-the-shoulders vintage dress from Modcloth last year and did get a ton of compliments. Of course, it became my top choice this year. Ivana, my older daughter is a very girly kid, and she loved her red dress that I bought for her on her Christmas show this year and had requested to wear this dress to take pictures. Elissa, her little sister is quite a character and she had that cute swing dress from Janie and Jack (that mommy wants to have one). The red and green combination reminded me of a Christmas tree. For her: Modcloth Boat Neck Vintage Dress (old) For him: Jcrew Non-Iron Dress Shirt Ivana: Red Ruffle Dress from www.zulily.com Elissa: Janie and Jack Green Holiday Dress This was my outfit for the night. I wanted to throw something more youthful but yet elegant, and this Anthopologie Bell Skirt was the choice as it would go well with the black sweater that I wore. At the time I bought the skirt, I had to hunt high and low for it since I found out its existence after it went out of stock. I remember having to search on Ebay and stayed up until 2:00 AM to bid. Although there were more brands that had this bell shape style, I still love my skirt because of its high waist. About the photographer: I have a lot of friends who are professional photographers. Therefore, I never thought of a need to book someone else. I knew Eddie Huỳnh through a friend's party and the first impression was his effort and dedication. Although one of his legs was broken, he still walked around and tried to find the best angle to take pictures. I did get a picture as a guest in that party and I was very pleased.
When my daughter's birthday came around the corner and I wanted to have my friends enjoyed the party, my niece had offered to ask her friend who loved taking pictures to be the camera men for the party. It was an informal party so I didn't care much. It turned out that person was Eddie. As we had the opportunity to work together in an event, I found that he put every effort in every photo that was taken. Some pictures with messy background turned out to be very artistic. At this time, one of his legs was still broken and he still tried his best to capture the best shots. Not only me but a lot of our friends who attended the party adored his talent. If I remember correctly, my friend, Jenny Nguyen had booked a few photo sessions for her daughter and her family immediately. With that experience, I booked Eddie for our Christmas photoshoot. Everyone who knows me well knows that I am passionate in taking pictures and blogging. Therefore, I'm not an easy client to begin with. He was very creative and patient in listening to what we truly wanted. The pictures came out very nice, artistic but yet unique and youthful. Very Eddie!! I would recommend Eddie to everyone. The price point is a bargain to hire such a talented photographer to your own home!!! |
